The Subject Was Roses

by Frank D. Gilroy

Directed by Dia Frid
Produced by Michelle Spanik

It's postwar America and Nettie and John Cleary are welcoming their soldier son Timmy home from the war. Warm to this American family as they face the changes in their lives and in themselves. The play will take you by the heart and the mind and lead you into a home that is coming to terms with new directions to face. Feel and be involved in the nuances of husband and wife, of father and son, of mother and son, into the often funny, always very real discoveries the Clearys' lives must deal with in the challenging world that War has delivered to them, to their middle-class New York apartment.

"Universal themes of love and freedom remain as clear and untarnished as they were in the 60s ... GREAT DRAMA." - Don Grigware, Broadwayworld.com
